James was born in Detroit, MI, and began his distinguished military career by enlisting in the U.S. Army as an artilleryman in 2004. Throughout his 20 years of service, he has been stationed in 10 different locations across the United States, demonstrating his adaptability and commitment to duty. James has proudly served his country in multiple deployments, including a tour in Iraq during the Global War on Terrorism and a recent deployment to Eastern Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, where he played a crucial role in deterring Russian aggression.

James was later commissioned as an Officer and furthered his education, earning a bachelor's degree from Post University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. While at the University of Michigan, James first encountered search funds and immediately knew raising one was his future goal. His academic achievements have complemented his military expertise, allowing him to excel in various leadership roles. Throughout his career, James has held multiple leadership positions in combat operations as an Artilleryman, across Army Recruiting, and most recently served as an Operations Officer for an Army Apache Squadron.

His strategic vision and leadership have significantly contributed to the success of his units and the safety of his fellow soldiers. Now retired, James is excited for the next chapter. Partnering with Steve, he is launching a search fund, a goal he has worked towards since his academic days. He leaves behind a legacy of honor, leadership, and dedication to his country, eagerly embracing new opportunities in the business world.
