Jaan Capital

Raj Mahajan is an experienced CEO and second-time searcher with a proven track record in finance and entrepreneurship. He began his career in investment banking, working in New York and Southern California before pursuing his MBA at USC with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Strategy. After a decade in finance, he transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding Basswood Capital, a search fund, in 2014.

Through Basswood Capital, he acquired and led ProPoint Solutions, a SaaS company developing SuperSalon, a leading Point-of-Sale software for 10,000+ salons and spas across North America. As CEO, he retained the team, established a headquarters in Minneapolis, and doubled ARR in four years before successfully exiting the business in 2021.

Now at Jaan Capital, he leverages his deep operational experience to acquire and scale another SaaS business. Outside of work, he serves on the board of YPO’s Waterloo Austin Chapter and is a former board member of the Minnesota State Chamber of Commerce. A proud new father, avid traveler, passionate community member, and frequent (but self-proclaimed terrible) golfer, he thrives on balancing professional success with personal fulfillment.
